When does my child need braces?
This is quite a complex question to answer. One of the key things to remember though is that there is no prescribed age that a child should be examined to determine whether they need braces or not. Some children benefit from braces at 9 years of age and others when they are 15, as it depends largely on what dental development stage they are at.
For example, widening the palate is more effective in earlier years, when the palate has not finished growing. This type of treatment can make more room for teeth that would otherwise be crowded.
